Surviving vs Thriving

Surviving versus Thriving
Survive-To continues to exist.
Signs You’re Living in Survival Mode
You choose the path of least resistance.
You are more reactive than proactive
You blame circumstances or others or find excuses when things go wrong.
You feel there is never enough to go around.
You don’t speak your mind because others might disagree.
You don’t listen to hear; you listen to answer.
You see failure as the result of things gone wrong.
Change scares you.

Thrive
To grow or increase stature; to grow vigorously or luxuriantly, to flourish.

Thriving happens when you have a life of purpose, vitality, connection, and celebration. This isn’t tied to a specific salary, job title, type of car, or relationship. Material possessions are not part of the recipe to thrive.
When you are surviving basically you are stagnant You are doing the bare minimum to sustained life. You are living in fear. We are not meant to live this way. We need to adventure outside of our comfort zone. Life is on the other side of fear.
I think about the movie Castaways” This is a great example of both When he is on the island Tom Hanks character is in survival mode. He is just trying to sustain his life in hopes of being rescued. Yet he also reflects on how his life was before the crash. He gets a mental list of things he wants to do when he gets home. He makes himself a friend.
This is something to think about. Are we living in survival mode or are we making the best out of our lives?
