On The Couch

Imagine that you are invited over to a friends house to hang out.  I am sure you would be excited to hang out with a friend one on one and just to catch up on each other’s life.  So you get to the door and knock.  Your friend answers the door and then invites you to come in.  You both go in the living room and sit on the couch.

As soon as you sit down your friend leaps up and says.  “I will be right back I have to do some dishes”  You are left on the couch alone while your friend does the dishes.  They come back a little while later but then says they have laundry to do.

This would not be encouraging, would it?  We may never do this to a friend but we do this all the time to GOD.  We set aside time to spend with GOD.  But then we start thinking of other things we could be doing or that we need to be doing.  We get easily distracted.

We need to change our mindset.  We need to treat our time with GOD as though he is a guest in our home.  We need to value that time and to not allow any distractions to take away from our time with GOD.  TO GOD BE THE GLORY
