It’s Not About Grace

The bible talks about forgiving those that have hurt us. To show grace and to love others. Sometimes that is easier said than done. There was a sister (Rosie) in the Dayton church who I bumped heads with more than I saw eye to eye with her.

She ulimately apologized and asked for my forgiveness. I accepted it. I moved to Charleston and thought I had moved passed it. But things came up there because this sister once lived in Charleston. So I found the bitter seed continue to be planted.

Then I moved to Hampton Roads and this sister once lived here also. When people in the church here found out I lived in Dayton they would mention this sister. I found that bitter seed (Easton) being rooted deeper and deeper.

So I decided to speak to a sister here to help me. OMG it was awesome. I realized that this was deeper than Rosie and giving her grace. This was about having and giving mercy

MERCY- compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm:

My twist on that definition is-compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom you wish harm or punishment in their life.

THAT IS DEEP.

I have never really thought about Mercy. I have studied out grace, love and forgiveness. Not really Mercy. So over the next few Sundays I hope to be able to share what I have learned about having and giving mercy.

It’s so crazy that I thought I was having this time with Easton to resolve this bitter seed toward Rosie. But it goes deeper than that. I realized that I have practiced grace, forgiveness and love towards my dad and others that have hurt me in my life. But mercy is not something that I have practiced

Thank You FATHER GOD for revealing to me things that I need to work on in my character. AMEN

To GOD Be The GLORY. Take Care Much Love.
