50/5/50

I shared in a previous post that I made a bucket list to complete by my 50th birthday in June. I know with COVID I may not get everything checked off by then and that is okay. I am at least going to try.

One of the things on the list is what I call 50/5/50. I want to do 50 5ks by my 50th birthday. I decided on this because I had felt stagnant in my life. Just work, eat, sleep and repeat. I wanted to feel like I was doing something with my life.

So I started looking on the internet and just got hooked on some of the cool virtual 5Ks that were out there. As of 12/31/2020 I have completed 40 5Ks. I have done some for charities,awareness, and some just for fun. I hope to share some of the 5Ks in future weeks.

Something that started as something to get me off the couch has been something I enjoy. Now dont get it twisted. I HATE running. The act of running is not fun for me. But what I enjoy is being alone to clear my mind. I get to jam to some music and just be free for about an hour.

It has not been easy. I don’t always run the full 3.14 miles. I do try to run at least one mile and then I will walk the rest. The important thing is that I finished it. And that is what I do every time. May take me over an hour but that is okay.
