Using It For Evil **Possible Triggers**

I am sure by now most people have heard about Logan Paul and the unthinkable decision he made.  From what I gather he is a popular VBlogger on Youtube.  Usually, he makes funny videos.  He has a lot of followers.

He made a choice to go to a forest in Japan that is known as a place that people go to commit suicide.  He intentionally went there to video record what he found there.  There was a person who recently committed suicide.  After the backlash, he is now claiming he was not thinking.  Let’s break this down.  He videotaped it, went somewhere to edit it, then posted it.  He had plenty of time to think about it.  To reflect and make sure it was a wise decision.

Not agreeing with what he did at all.  But if he had live-streamed it straight to Facebook or something.  Then the excuse of “I was not thinking” might work.  But even in the planning of that trip.  I am not sure if he was already in Japan for something else or if he went to Japan specifically to go to this forest.

If this was a planned trip that is pretty much premeditated.  He planned this and had more than enough time.  I don’t understand how he could justify that it was a good idea to video record someone who had taken their own life.

There are other ways you can bring attention to depression and suicide instead of what he did.  He has an amazing platform.  But I feel in this instant he used it for evil and not good.

Lilie called me the other day to ask me if I had heard about this story.  After she explained it to me I instantly thought of another story I heard a few years ago where people used their cellphones for evil and not good.

I don’t remember the exact facts.  I believe the situation was a spring break celebration in Florida.  There was a female college student drunk and passed out on the beach.  Some guys raped her.  That in and of itself is horrible.  What made it worse was that people pulled out their cell phones AND VIDEOTAPED IT AND POSTED IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? These people could have yelled, screamed and knocked the guys out.  But instead, they stood there recorded it and then put it on social media.  I do not understand at all how they could justify that they made the right choice.  And it is not like there was only one person as far as I remember there were numerous people that did this.  I just don’t understand.

Saying that these were young kids that did not think.  That excuse I do not accept.  Your brain may still be developing.  But all humans have common sense and should know that you don’t videotape and post someone committing suicide or someone getting raped.

These are not just objects.  These are people.  Someone’s daughter, son, friend, brother, sister.  Don’t disconnect from the person.

Take Care Much Love.
