Try by Mandy Harvey

I LOVE America’s Got Talent.  So, of course, I began to watch it at the beginning of the summer.  One of the audition shows a girl named Mandy Harvey came on stage.  Simon noticed she had an interpreter.  Mandy explains that she has lost her hearing.  She has wanted to follow her dream of her love of music.  That dream was halted after realizing she had lost her hearing.  Mandy said some very inspirational things in the video.

“I wanted music to be my life”

“I did not hear enough to even start the text”

“That was a bad day”

“Everything I ever wanted was just going away. And I could not stop it”

“I just went for it”

“Music now is not about the sound.  It is about the feeling”

“It’s not the dream I always had.  It’s okay”

“I showed up. I did something I never believed I could”

All these words of wisdom are so encouraging and inspirational.  The life I have had are not the dream I had for my life.  But my life is playing out to be better than my best dreams.  Every day we need to show up to our life.  And to do something we believed we never could.

Mandy begins to sing a song she wrote called “Try”  It is such a powerful song.  I am inspired by this girl of wisdom

Try

I don’t feel the way I used to
The sky is gray much more than it is blue
But I know one day I’ll get through
And I’ll take my place again

If I would try
If I would try
Oh
And there is no one for me to blame
Cause I know the only thing in my way is me

I don’t live the way I want to
That whole picture never came into view
But I’m tired of getting used to the day

So I will Try
So I will try
If I would try
If I would try
Oh
