Monday Memories-Crabbing

Crabbing
Living on Langley Air Force Base definitely had its advantages. Since it is so close to the water there was a crabbing peir within a mile of my house. When I was around 12 years old that’s when I caught the crabbing bug I can’t remember exactly who taught me about crabbing but I remember once I started doing it I enjoyed it so much that I would come home from school grab a pack of chicken out of my moms freezer and go down to the pier. It was just so therapeutic to be able to get away from the problems that was going on in my household at that time and just cast a net into the water and Wait for the pot to fill up with crabs. I would take the crabs home boiler them and prepare the Meat.
Crabbing was my therapy like I said there was a lot going on during my childhood at that time it was right after my sexual trauma my parents were going through a divorce and my sister had ran away so going crabbing was my way of leaving my worries behind for just a few hours
Now that I am back in the Hampton Roads area I look forward to going crabbing again. To be able to visit a safe and happy place from my childhood is something I look forward to.
To GOD Be The Glory. Take Care. Much Love
