Birthday Goals.-Reverse Encouragement

Bethanie & Lilie sent me to J. Alexanders for my birthday. It was close to closing time, I got the idea to buy someone a piece of their carrot cake. But there were not many people still there. So when my waitress came to pick up my bill I asked her if she had any tables left. She said she did not with confusion. So I told her I wanted to buy someone a piece of Carrot Cake. I asked her if she could ask her co-workers if they had a table I could buy for.
So My waitress walks across the restaurant and asked waitress B. They talk and my waitress comes over and says that waitress B had a table that was just ordering a piece of cake. So I told my waitress to put it on my tab. Well, then waitress B comes over and says that her table says thanks and at that moment one of the women (there were 2 men & 2 women at the table) starts waving. I told waitress B that she did not have to tell them.LOL, I then explained to my waitress and waitress B about my challenge. They were both encouraged.
Well, the woman that was waving comes over to my table and gives me a hug. I told her it was no problem. I explained to her about my random act of kindness challenge. She goes on to tell me that her father is a WWII veteran who lives in the nursing home at the VA so he does not get to come out to eat very often with them so they brought him to dinner to celebrate Father’s Day. The piece of cake they ordered was for him to take back to the nursing home. I was so BLOWN AWAY. I went over to the table and thanked him for his service. I could tell that he was not able to comprehend what I was saying. I did not let that stop me from telling him to thank you.
It is so crazy that I wanted to encourage someone and I actually was encouraged by my encouragement. SO CRAZY
